Technology Transfer Unit (UTT) of ENEA has a large experience in leading projects, developing specific researches or transfer research results to industries. It represents, in the ENEA, the contact point between the researchers and the industrial world acting as an innovation engine. Actually the Unit is managing more or less 10 different projects, leading some of them or participating as active actor in research and development of results. The fields of application of these projects are very different: from environmental analysis of products (like life cycle assessment) to use of standards in collaborations between industries, from research results valorization to implementation of eLearning courses.
The wide range of experiences is guarantee of the capacity of UTT to afford the different aspects of project implementation and its possibility to manage and positively solve possible issues that can arise in development of the activities.

Provincia di Ferrara


 

Main competences carried out by the Province of Ferrara range from following domains: intermediate level territorial planning, territorial management, environment, planning of training offer, professional training, labor politics, agriculture, participation to health and socio-assistential planning. With regard to the last domain, the Province´s competences positively fit the needs of transnational cooperation in SPES project, given its daily work with subjects and stakeholders working in the Health domain on its territory. The internal structure of the Province foresees a European Policies department with sound experience in European Programmes and projects. Given its experience in carrying out transnational projects, the Province can serve a s a point of reference for the partnership. The results of the project will be exploited based on the results of the pilot implemented in the Province of Ferrara and of the discussions/relations already established among italian partners taking part to SPES proposal (Local Health Authority of Ferrara, CUP 2000 and the Province).

Azienda Unità Sanitaria Locale di Ferrara



The aim of the institution (www.ausl.fe.it) is to promote and protect individual and collective health of the residents in the Province of Ferrara (351.00 inhabitants) and support population in its territory, to allow the best possible life, guaranteeing assistance basic levels as established by national and regional regulation. Ferrara Local Authority covers the administrative side of an overall number of 6 hospitals (Argenta, Bondeno, Cento, Comacchio, Copparo and Lagosanto) and 3 Health districts (West, Centre-Nort and South East). Each district provides citizens with support through practices, consulting rooms, residences and home care services. Each of the above-mentioned typlogies of support are a targeted towards special needs of local patients.

With regard to SPES project, part of the organisation´s activties aims at: - qualifying the offered services and preventive, clinical and relief interventions, developing the capacity of analyzing health needs of population and identifying priorities, - assessing appropriateness and results of the carried out actions; - developing clinical and relief continuity system, adopting integrated organizing and managerial solutions; - Strengthening the territorial services capability to answer to the needs of the individuals and the community.Being the direct contact with care providers at local level, the involvement of the Local Health Authority of Ferrara justifies its participation in the SPES project, as far as the facilitation of the pilots´ deployment are concerned. In this sense, the competencies of the organisation match with the SPES proposal´s results, related to the implementation and evaluation of care services prvovision for the relief of citizens located in its territory.

CUP 2000

 



Cup 2000 has participated in numerous European projects of IV and VII Framework Programmes, aimed at innovating the health service for end user benefits, such as the OLDES project developed in the area of the IST Programme realising a multi-channel network of home help, and CONFIDENCE project which aims at the development and integration of innovative technologies for the detection of abnormal events (such as falls) or unexpected behaviours. These projects enhance the quality of life and may support the social relationship of elderly and help them fight loneliness. In particular OLDES aims at developing an entertainment and Telemedicine platform for elderly people at home with connection to a cost effective central infrastructure in the Cities of Bologna and Prague. In the pilot of Bologna more than 100 elderly people are involved.The CONFIDENCE project is developing a care system addressed to elderly that works both outdoors and indoors.
The Business Unit e-Care Networks allows the integration of health services and healthcare for the medically infirm. In particular home help care for the aged, using advanced ICT technologies integrating public and voluntary services and telemedicine and tele-care consultation. Up until now the e-Care network has involved 3.000 mature adults. SOLE is a healthcare on-line network of General Practitioners and aims at maintaining continuity in assistance. SOLE network links hospitals and the local area, supplies a medical network of General Practitioners, implementations of patient records regionally and the application of health standards inter-linking systems at all regional levels. SOLE involves 4,3 millions of citizens and 4000 General Ps and Pediatricians

Fonds Soziales Wien




The Vienna Social Fund (FSW) subsidizes and organizes services for persons with care and nursing needs, persons with disabilities and persons without accommodation or housing. In addition, it offers subsistence provisions for refugees and – through the FSW subsidiary Debtors´ Counselling Vienna – persons with debts. About 100,000 persons a year are supported non-bureaucratically and in a needs-oriented way by the Vienna Social Fund and its 150 partner organizations.

As the organization responsible for subsidizing and providing social services to older persons with nursing care needs within the City of Vienna, the Vienna Social Fund looks back on years of intensive experience and expertise in the field of providing services for persons with demential diseases. In the geriatric day care centres and in mobile care and nursing units especially, the Vienna Social Fund has long been working on the needs- and requirements-based assistance for older persons with dementia. Multi-professional teams consisting of therapists, social workers, nursing staff and home helps support older persons in individual and group activities to improve the quality of their lives and maintain as autonomous lifestyles as possible despite disability, mental disorientation and nursing needs.

The introduction of new technologies in these fields can contribute a great deal towards the goal of enabling social inclusion for this highly vulnerable group. Hence, on the basis of its support and subsidization of older persons with nursing care needs and demential diseases, the Vienna Social Fund is in a position to help adapt and implement new technological applications.

Vienna Social Services


 

The Wiener Sozialdienste (Vienna Social Services) have been providing social services for people in Vienna for more than 65 years. The diverse range of services includes care, support, consulting and therapy facilities for old, ill, disabled, socially challenged and socially vulnerable people and their families.

The association and its two subsidiaries with more than 1,300 employees work in cooperation with the City of Vienna to provide the following social services:

mobile ergotherapy, institute for couples and family therapy, contact visiting service (an information service for senior citizens), team handwer(a socio-economic project), mobile services (domestic support, medical nursing care, visiting service), flat sharing communities for senior citizens, a geriatric day care center, supervised and assisted accomodation for disabled and/or mentally ill adults, HandWerk (a sheltered workshop), special support classes for children with multiple disabilities, 4 centers for developmental promotion (for children from 0-6 years) and early mobile promotion.

University of Vienna




The Research Group of Scientific Computing at the University of Vienna (UVIE) achieved international recognition in the field of software for high performance computing, data mining and data management. Its research focuses on the design and development of languages, software tools, and programming environments with the goal of making distributed and parallel computing platforms accessible to a broad range of users in science and industry. Through the GridMiner project UVIE brings long-term experience of data mining, of integrating this with workflows and data access and integration and supporting a number of medical projects. Additionally, UVIE was a technological key partner in the EU FP6 project @neurIST in order to combine clinical and patient data in a secure manner via service-oriented architectures.

Mesto Košice

 



The city is the administrative centre of the Košice Region, and is divided into four main Districts. As an independent legal entity it is divided into 22 city wards, each with its own local government. Overall specialist, administrative and organizational responsibilities, also for the realisation of the SPES project, are borne by Košice´s Municipal Authority in cooperation with the ward authorities. The city of Košice is governed by the Mayor and the City Council, and each ward also has its own elected council and council leader. The city of Košice is a legal entity which manages its own property and the property entrusted to it independently under the conditions stated by law. The city also manages its own income and the entrusted financial income.
Košice employs altogether 1 309 employees. The municipality consists of departments ensuring the administration of its professional affairs. The drawing up and implementation of the projects is the duty of the Department of the Strategic Development. Košice has very rich experiences in creation and implementation of projects and the scope of its activities involves a wide range of the fields of the city´s social life.

Technická univerzita v Košiciach

 

 

Technical university of Košice (TUK) is the second largest technical university in Slovakia.  The number of students currently attending nine TUKE Faculties exceeds 16 000. Approximately 13 000 of them are full-time students, out of which there are 8 500 Bachelor students, 4 000 Master students and over 500 PhD students. Almost 900 teachers work here and the same number of research and administrative staff. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has a strong record in applied research in the area of knowledge management, knowledge technologies, ontology-based knowledge modeling, web technologies, e-government, and data and text mining. Centre for Information Technologies (CIT) represents a common workplace of Institute of Informatics Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava and Technical university of Košice within DCAI. Researchers engaged in this centre have experiences with various ICT, service-oriented architecture and web services, design and implement of supporting applications for eGovernment or eLearning, different knowledge technologies and business informatics. These knowledge were acquired within realized European or national projects as KP-Lab, Webocracy, KnowWeb, Data Mining Meteo, Slovak Centre of Excellence I. and II., etc.

Czech Technical University in Prague

 

CVUT is the largest research institutions in the Czech Republic (over 1700 academic staff). The Department of Cybernetics (the participatting research unit) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the CVUT is aimed at high-quality research in artificial intelligence, machine perception, robotics, and biomedical engineering with the focus to multi-agent systems, machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, knowledge-based systems, medical data processing and collaborative robotics.  The department is involved in many projects (including security and defense projects) financed by the EU, and/or by Czech or foreign governmental institutions. We collaborates with industry on targeted research and development projects leading to innovations.

The department received  the “EU Centre of Excellence” award in 2000, and in 2006 the prestigious European IST Prize by the European Commission. Specifically, the Nature Inspired technologies Group,  http://nit.felk.cvut.cz/, participates in the SPES project.

Pro DEEP o.s.

 

 

ProDeep, NGO was established by Deep Protected ICT organizxation to take action in the social area. Protected Deep ICT department employs 52 disabled people. This organization financially, materially, technically and, if necessary, personally provides support for activities of ProDeep NGO. We assume that after the completion of the pilot project 20 employees of Protected ICT Deep departments will be equipped by assistive tools (e.g. actuators for opening/closing windows, doors, outdoors localization using GPS technology, bed inclination detection,etc.). Deep NGO closely cooperates with Habronavsky castle NGO, where the assistive tools will be further used to prepare residents for independent living. In cooperation with the city of Brno, assistive devices will be applied for pilot testing in the social services of the city. After completion of the project we expect further deployment and maintenance of assistive devices for clients. ProDeep, NGO expects implementation of social services emergency call centre after the project completion.

CETIC (www.cetic.be) is the Belgian ICT applied research centre dedicated to support businesses, providing expertise in software engineering, innovative service based on service oriented technologies, Cloud and embedded systems.

¨     Software and System Engineering provides methodological support to help companies develop high-quality IT products and services, ensuring reliability, safety, security, and compliance with international standards.

 

¨     Software and Services Technologies provides businesses with strong technological expertise to help them implement distributed, service-oriented and dynamic computing architectures. Through the use of semantic technologies and by exploiting the real business opportunities of open source software, this department helps accelerate the transformation of information into knowledge.

 

¨     Embedded and Communication Systems helps companies prototype innovative embedded systems. This department focuses primarily on embedded software for intelligent wireless systems for a wide range of applications, ranging from road transport to eHealth, consumer electronics, home automation, etc.

 

This expertise has been gained through CETIC´s active involvement in European projects from the FP6 and FP7 for Research and Technological Developments as well as in key regional research projects, such as the Marshall Plan for the economic development of the Walloon Region. As far as SPES is concerned, CETIC is the leader of technical developments of the project.

 

Investing in leading sectors such as eHealth and Cloud Computing among others, CETIC develops partnerships with technological leaders and European industries and speeds up this technological transfer to local Belgian businesses.
